The Westminster Lions Club guest speaker on October 12 was Boy Scout Dalin Thomas from Troop 735. He is working toward achieving his Eagle Scout badge by erecting a 25-30 foot flagpole as a symbol of honor and unity to commemorate the 177 Veterans in the Deer Park Veterans Cemetery. His goal is to raise $3,500 to cover the expenses by December 16, 2023. The original flag pole was destroyed during the severe storms in Westminster, Maryland on August 7, 2023, that knocked over poles and power lines along Route 140.
