Break The Stigma - Say NOPE to DOPE

The Club joined other clubs for a Lions setup at the Break the Stigma event in Westminster, Maryland. The event is used to to raise awareness about addiction and mental health disorders, challenge negative stereotypes, and promote the understanding that addiction is a treatable illness, with recovery being a possible and positive outcome. Campaigns utilizing this message organize events like walks, festivals, and public education initiatives to foster open discussions, build support networks, and ensure access to treatment and recovery resources for individuals and families. After the folks participated in the Walk, they visited the different tables set up - not only the different Lions Clubs, but different busnesses and charties from Westminster.

The Westminster Lions Club handed out snacks and water and fruit juices. Our little 'wheel' gave them a chance to win one of our little gifts. The club members who worked the event are: Kenny Carlisle, Susie Coursey, Bob Coursey, Kathy Giroux, Lee Miller, Bob Keefer, Barb Hayes, Bob Hayes, Missy Nagle, and Ron Nagle.

The Ghostbusters made sure we were all safe. And the Lions brought the Mobile Screening Unit where folks could be tested for different things.
