An AED program was approved at the Sept.12 2024 meeting:
The Westminster Lion’s Club will be taking over the AED program from the Valley Lion’s Club.
Three Private schools in Westminster were provided with AEDs; Carroll Lutheran School, St. John
Catholic School, and Montessori School.
The Westminster Lion’s club will be responsible for replacing electrodes every two years and batteries
every four years, or as needed.
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a medical device designed to analyze the heart rhythm
and deliver an electric shock to a victim with an uncoordinated heart rhythm, or ventricular fibrillation,
that most often is responsible for sudden cardiac arrest.
The shock restores the heart to normal beat.
The AEDs are registered in the National AED registry.
Lion Milton Zepp, program chairman, will monitor and maintain this life saving project.
