Purpose: To provide a civic and social organization for professional and business people in the vicinity.

Service Dedicated to the principles of good government, good citizenship, and community service.

Since our charter in 1940, the Westminster Lions Club has actively supported the International Association of Lions Clubs, our Lions Club District, and the community of Westminster. All monies collected resulting from fund raising activities is returned to the communicty in the form of donations to charitable organizations as well as eyeglesses and scholarships to graduating high school seniors from the Westminster area.

Some of the charitable organizations that we support are: Maryland Eye Bank, Maryland School for the Blind, Diabetes (Camp Merrick), Lion Leader Dog Program, Lion Vision Research, Lion Club International Foundation, Westminster Little League Baseball, Carroll Hospice, Carroll County Young Marines, Westminster Fire Company, Carroll County ARC, Special Olympics of Carroll County, Westminster Fireworks, Shepherd Staff, and Westminster Miracle on Main Street. We also provide financial support to needy people for eye examinations, glasses, hearing tests, and hearing aids. We collect used eyeglasses for recycling. And we conduct these fundraising activities throughout the year.

The Westminster Lion's Club will be awarding three scholarships to 2025 high school graduates. A $1,000 one year scholarship will be awarded to seniors graduating from both Westminster High School
and Winters Mill High School. One $1,000 one year scholarships will be awarded to senior students from Carroll County Career and Technology Center. The application can be found HERE. Scholarship applications may be picked up at school guidance offices. Applications for the CCCTC second semester must be post marked by May 8, 2025. Applications for the high schools must be post marked by May 16, 2025 and mailed to: Westminster Lion's Club Scholarship Committee, c/o Robert Hayes, Chairman, 1142 Deer Park Road, Westminster, MD 21157.

Meetings are 6:30 pm the second Thursday and fourth Thursday of each month at the VFW, 519 Poole Road, Westminster.

Fees: Annual membership dues: $60.
